Time Series Analysis of Streamflow Alteration in the U.S.
Current In Progress
An ongoing research project, through the coordination with Northern Arizona University, Baylor University, and University of Victoria, examines historical flow alteration for the contiguous United States. Using flow-ecology relationships from my graduate research I am identifying when and where ecologically significant flow alteration has occurred, or where flow alteration crosses our thresholds. Here, I am using my skills in big data to calculate monthly flow alteration for HUC4 watersheds from 1980 to 2017. This research provides vital research on the long term trends in flow alteration and how these changes in the environment may be affecting riverine ecosystems for regions of the U.S.
